My Weekly Reader started in 1928. It was a periodical of the American Education Publications was owned by Wesleyan University from 1949 until it was sold to the Xerox Corporation in 1965.  It is now Weekly Reader owned by Readers Digest.  In 1963 it was .25 cents a semester and .50 cents a school year.
